Just got an email from the Phillies…

I’m on the Philadelphia Phillies email list. It’s useful since they’ll occasionally do Internet ticket specials like buy-one-get-one-free. And you get some news too… like this:

Subject: Phils add depth to starting rotation

PHILLIES ACQUIRE LOHSE
Looking to add depth to the starting rotation, the Phillies obtained right-handed pitcher Kyle Lohse from the Cincinnati Reds on Monday in exchange for minor league pitcher Matt Maloney.

Lohse was 6-12 with a 4.58 ERA in 21 starts for Cincinnati and had the fifth-worst run support in the NL at 3.69 runs per game. In his last five starts, Lohse is 3-2 with a 3.27 ERA. He pitched
at least 6.0 innings in 15 of his 21 starts.

So… how is that adding depth? He’s 6-12. They are obviously blaming the Reds’ offense for his losses. Let’s hope so…

I can hear the Philly fans calling him “Lohse with a silent H”!
