Drunk Astronauts
This whole story sounds like a bunch of bunk. I haven’t seen any concrete evidence and from the reports it sounds like a rumour that is getting reported as fact.
To top it off (pun intended), this article from MSNBC has the following “fact”:
Despite official denials of drinking before Russian flights to the space station, cosmonauts aboard the Mir space station, which has since been abandoned, were permitted to imbibe moderately.
Ummm… not only was the Mir “abandoned”, but it burned up when crashing/reentering the Earth’s atmosphere… sheesh. They make it sound like it’s still floating around out their like some kind of sky bar!
