Pool Construction
All of the shots I’ve posted are from our deck, but here is one looking from the pool patio back to our house. Since we live on a slope, we’ve had to use terracing to make the yard more functional. This is a good shot to see this. The deck is 16×22. Below the deck we built a patio terrace which is about 20×22.
One of the things we like most about the pool is how the concrete path leads from the patio terrace down to the pool itself. We didn’t want a walkway that would cut straight through the middle of the yard, so we designed it to mimic the curvature of the retaining wall around the patio terrace. This had the side benefit of of gently meandering down the slope which eliminated the need for any steps.
Also in the foreground you can see how the pool was cut into the slope of the yard. There will be a short (about 2.5′ h) retaining wall wrapping around that side of the pool.
