CD Update: The Week In Review - Lots of Podcasts

Well, another good week! A lot of podcast shows (6) played songs from the album last week and the Internet Radio Shows have been playing 3 songs quite a bit: When The World Comes Down On You, Rittenhouse Square, and Save Me.

I’m starting to run low on CDs (I didn’t get a ton made), so if you want to pick one up or order one from CDBaby, you may want to get your order in before they are sold out.

So first, a mini-review / comment about the album:

Jim DiGiuseppe in the City Paper writes:

Neall Alcott wins the “Wait this guy is from Jersey? (Hail Britannia)” award for his Rittenhouse Square” a song that shows even Philly locales can be written about in a lovey Britpop sound.

If any of you have an iTunes account, please post a review about the album. I appreciate the help!

So back to the podcasts…

Podcasts

First, two of these shows went live on Monday, but since I just sent out a “week in review” post last Sunday (and I’m trying to not spam everyone), I waited until now to tell you about them:

Acoustic Philly

I really love the Acoustic Philly podcast and I’m very honored that they played two songs from Rittenhouse Square: On My Own and 6am! The hosts are Rebecca and Steve Vlam from the band Ellis Reed. Their show highlights artists from in and around the Philly area (as well as others passing through). It’s a very good podcast show and if you are a fan of acoustic music, check them out! Also, check out Ellis Reed’s CD Still Life at iTunes. Good stuff! Definitely check this out!

TPN Rock Sessions: Neall Alcott

Back on August 24, Ewan Spence played Save Me. Ewan is the host of the TPN Rock podcasts out of Edinburgh, Scotland. I emailed Ewan to thank him and he asked me to do a special TPN Rock Sessions podcast to discuss several songs from Rittenhouse Square. In this podcast I discuss the songwriting and recording of 3 songs from the album: Rittenhouse Square, 6am, and When The World Comes Down On You. Hopefully you’ll enjoy a little bit of the behind the scenes and thinking that went into these 3 songs.

Ewan puts on a great series of podcasts for TPN Rock. Click the link below to subscribe to the TPN Rock podcast in iTunes:

The Daily Pod

Christoph Till is the host of the Daily Pod. The Daily Pod is a podcast out of Berlin, Germany. Chrisoph played When The World Comes Down On You a few weeks ago. This week, he played Save Me. To be honest, the show is all in German and since I don’t know German all I can tell you is what he played…

My Pocket Player - Mój odtwarzacz
My Pocket Player - Mój odtwarzacz is a podcast out of Warsaw, Poland and is hosted by Borys Kozielski. Borys featured two of my songs in two separate podcasts, State of Mind in My Pocket Player #39 and When The World Comes Down On You in My Pocket Player #40. He also asked me to record a quick intro to his show for #40. Check them out!

Well, that’s it for this week. Thanks for everyone’s support and help!

As always, thanks for listening, spreading the good word and for reading my blog…

Thanks!

Neall
