Book Review: 1776
1776
by David McCullough
This book describes the state of the American Revolution during the year 1776. In grammar / high school, you are only taught about the signing of the Declaration of Independence during that year. This book tells about the trials and tribulations that the Founding Fathers and the Continental Army went through. In particular, the telling of the Battle of Brooklyn and the loss of New York is a part of American history seldom talked about. The war was very close to lost until Washington turned the tide by crossing the Delaware and winning the Battle of Trenton.
It’s a great book and a very illuminating look at the Revolutionary War.
